Is Zac Goldsmith running scared of London businesses

The Tories have long been seen as the party for big business, so it's unusual to hear of concerns about a Conservative candidate failing to engage with the business community. But our first piece today suggests that this is the case for Zac Goldsmith. In contrast to his opponent Sadiq Khan, who has gone to great lengths to win over the city, Goldsmith seems to be holding back.

We also report on the findings of a cross party inquiry into the impact on of the government's welfare reform bill on child poverty. MPs have warned that the proposed changes will hit vulnerable children the hardest and could lead to a "lost generation" growing up in poverty and poor health.
