Why is Clegg so happy?

"I always hated Tony Blair, from the beginning" - Doris Lessing

Drab and predictable

Tony Blair made a rather limited intervention in the election today on the one and only topic on which he and Ed Miliband seem to agree: the EU. The former PM made a decent speech on Labour's refusal to hold a referendum. It was the only moment of mild interest on a day in which the core vote strategy of the Tories and Labour provided exactly the sort of drab and predictable election campaign you'd expect. So instead of all that, we took a look at why Nick Clegg seems to be so cheerful and the way social media has once again failed to dominate the election. There's also some nonsense being talked about Bloomberg becoming London's mayor, which we've discounted so you don't have to.
