The media sexism against Nicola Sturgeon - Politics.co.uk

Westminster sexism

Westminster often feels stuck in a different age, especially on the subject of women in politics. This heavily male-dominated world often treats women as second class citizens and this is often reflected in the coverage of female politicians. The rise of Nicola Strurgeon has only brought this to the fore.

Elsewhere, the continuing crisis in the Mediterranean has brought to light some even uglier attitudes, with the prime minister apparently reluctant to get involved in what is now a huge humanitarian disaster.

Meanwhile the election campaign continues, with Miliband the new favourite to emerge as next prime minister. However, with today being the deadline to register to vote, many are still asking whether it's still worth voting at all.
