Ed risks his Brand

Was Ed Miliband's decision to be interviewed by Russell Brand a smart move or a huge political mistake? We're likely to find out today when the film star and activist releases the full video of their encounter together. Whatever your view of Brand, you cannot deny that this was a bold move by the Labour leader in what has otherwise been a safety-first election campaign.

Elsewhere, we have news of a landmark supreme court ruling which means the UK government must now act to clean up the country's toxic air. The court's ruling brings to an end a five year legal battle and means the next government must take the issue of the thousands of people who die through poor air quality in the UK every year, far more seriously than they have until now.
