Today we report that Sadiq Khan has launched a review into plans for London's Garden Bridge. Criticised by some for being little more than a vanity project of Boris Johnson, the proposed bridge has proved controversial. Now, the new mayor has appointed Margaret Hodge to "investigate the conduct" of the last administration in authorising it.

Next, we have a piece which looks at the opposition to the Canada-EU trade deal CETA. It asks why, with so much evidence stacking up against the deal, the British government continues to speak so glowingly of it.

And finally, we hear from the author of a new report which highlights the cost of a child in 2016. He suggests that while family living standards have improved for some, cuts to benefits could continue to make life harder for low-income families.
