All eyes have been on the Labour leadership contest over the last few weeks but Ukip is also in need of a new leader. Our first piece today suggests that a quick look at the shambles the party is making of it tells us everything we need to know about its politics. Incompetence, temper tantrums and blaming others for their mistakes now seem to be par for the course for Ukip politicians. Back to Labour, and immigration continues to be an issue the party struggles with. But our next piece argues that it doesn't have to be this way. It suggests that blaming immigrants for low wages lets the Tories off the hook and that labour needs to create a positive narrative that sets it apart from the cynicism of current politics. |
