We're used to hearing about the concerns of Brits over immigration but today we report that anti-immigrant sentiment appears to be sweeping the globe. A major survey by Ipsos Mori shows that countries in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas fear a negative impact from newcomers.

Elsewhere, we speak to the director of the new action thriller Eye in the Sky, Gavin Hood. The film may look like a standard Hollywood blockbuster but strip away the snappy dialogue and urgent editing and this is an intelligent political movie. The characters are nuanced and multilayered and the story throws up plenty of moral questions. In this piece Hood discusses the challenge of delivering a fast paced, entertaining film that also manages to give people something to talk about.
