Stop asking for facts in the EU debate

"We animals live life in all its glorious uncertainty. Why do politicians think they can control events?" - Rita Mae Brown

Wouldn't it be great if someone could tell us exactly what would happen if the UK leaves the EU? It would certainly make it a lot easier to decide which way to vote in the referendum, but as nobody can see into the future, that's never going to happen. Our first piece today suggests that the debate has now become so grubby that the public has been left grasping for hard facts that don't exist.

And just as nobody can tell us what will happen after the referendum, nobody really knows what the outcome of it will be either. Yesterday saw a series of articles suggesting the Leave campaign is pulling ahead, only for two more polls to come out overnight saying Remain were back out in front. Our next piece argues that the press should be much more cautious before calling a 'surge' for either side of the campaign.

And finally we have a piece which looks at our current rape laws and suggests that they discriminate against trans people. It argues that the transgender community are experiencing greater official encroachment into the most private areas of their lives and that changes are needed to the law to correct the apparent prejudice.
