What can we take from yesterday's shot of the Brexit notes carried by the aide to Tory vice-chair Mark Field? Our first piece today suggests that while we can't know for sure if they are an accurate description of government policy, they do tally perfectly with what we know of the reality on the ground and the government's negotiating aims. It warns that if they are accurate, we could be in very serious trouble.

Elsewhere, we hear from a new British group set up to raise awareness about the threat posed to women's reproductive rights in the US, since Donald Trump's victory. UK Friends of Planned Parenthood says this is the beginning of what they hope will be a movement that sees women across the UK and the world fight for the universality of a woman's right to choose.
