Just how much is the government willing to ignore in its attempt to secure trade deals? Our first piece today looks at the British government's response to Donald Trump's victory and its apparent lack of concern about some of the things the president elect stands for. It suggests that we are selling ourselves for Trump's coins of silver.

And, the chancellor will shortly deliver his first Autumn Statement. Theresa May apparently told her cabinet this morning that it will make clear that Britain is "open for business" and that the government is "on the side of ordinary working people" but what does any of that mean really mean? Check back with us later this afternoon for our full analysis.
