Yesterday's High Court ruling that MPs must be allowed to vote on the decision to implement Article 50, has caused a furious reaction today, both in the press and on social media, with the Daily Mail labelling the three judges who made the ruling "enemies of the people". Our first piece today looks at some of the angry and even violent reactions to the ruling and argues that it is a worrying sign that the country is moving in a dangerous direction.

Our second piece today takes a look at the latest government white paper on prison reform. It argues that, far from tackling problems of prisoner safety, as it claims, it actually is chiefly concerned with a narrow view of market competition within the sector.
