Vote Leave embarrass themselves with conspiracy theories

"It is much easier to be critical than to be correct." - Benjamin Disraeli

It may be hard to remember but there was a time when Vote Leave were all set to be the grown-up and responsible Brexit campaign. Since then, one financial institution after another has warned that there would be negative consequences of leaving the EU. Rather than challenging these predictions with sensible arguments, our first piece today suggests that the group is resorting to daft conspiracy theories.

The last time Angela Eagle and George Osborne faced each other at PMQs, the shadow business secretary's impressive performance gave Labour MPs something to cheer about. Today, as David Cameron is in Japan, the pair met again for round two. Our verdict of the encounter suggests that the chancellor did no better this time around and if anything only managed to prove why he would be a terrible Tory leader.
