Sadiq Khan must fight for social housing

Sadiq Khan had barely got his foot in the door of City Hall before campaigners started piling on the pressure over the various challenges facing London. But the most pressing issue for him must be the capital's housing crisis.

For the last few years, it has been left to local groups to stand up for the people worst hit by the lack of suitable homes and barely a week passes without a protest in some part of London over the actions of one local authority or another. Our lead item today suggests that if Khan really wants to be a mayor for "all Londoners" he must fight for social housing.
