Police turn away from cannabis

"Bad laws are the worst sort of tyranny." - Edmund Burke

This morning we look at reports that suggest the police are directing their resources on more important matters than chasing cannabis users. Yet, this afternoon there will be a Commons debate on the controversial psychoactive substances bill. This piece asks why MPs are inventing more drug laws just as police are turning away from cannabis.

We also have a piece which looks at Britain's ever growing relationship with China. It warns that becoming more reliant on the country will leave Britain exposed to political and economical turmoil in China.

And if you missed our coverage of the SNP conference over the weekend you can catch up with our analysis of Nicola Sturgeon's speech here. And read our report on comments made by the party leader about the UK media's 'unhealthy' interest in her, here.
