Today we bring you our view from inside the Conservative party conference. We describe a nightmarish world where everyone looks and dresses the same inside a place that feels more like a corporate event than a political one. The speeches are predictable and the fringes are dull. Is this what cynical electoral strategy does to a party? To liven things up a little, we took a trip outside the conference area and headed for Manchester University where the People's Assembly Against Austerity were holding a benefit gig with Charlotte Church and the Super Furry Animals. Find out what the legendary Welsh group had to say about the Tories, Welsh independence and Jeremy Corbyn. |
