Corbyn has brought party conference back to life

Today we bring you the latest from the Labour party conference in Brighton.

We have our analysis of Jeremy Corbyn's speech from yesterday. There were flickers of political ingenuity but we found it to be lacking in ambition and showed that the new leader was not interested in reaching people outside of the hall. Despite this, Corbyn has managed to bring party conference back to life. There is full political debate everywhere you look and an energy that hasn't been seen since the early days of Tony Blair.

We also report on comments made by the Labour MP for Bassetlaw, John Mann, in which he suggested the party would be 'out of touch for a generation' if it doesn't change its immigration policy. Speaking at a conference event last night, Mann said white working class voters and trade unionists were deserting Labour for Ukip.

Finally, we hear from the Labour MP, Anna Turley, on the impact the mothballing of the Redcar steelworks will have on local people. She asks why if David Cameron really believes in the "northern powerhouse" he has abandoned the Teesside steelworkers.
