Labour MP Simon Danczuk has warned that the party would plot to oust Jeremy Corbyn from "day one" if he was to become the next leader. Speaking to LBC yesterday, he said he would "not put up" with the "crazy left-wing policies" Corbyn plans to pursue. Today, writing for Politics.co.uk Danczuk says Ed Miliband left the party with an "absolute mess of a leadership election" which should now be halted to allow Labour to identify why new members are joining or becoming supporters. Elsewhere, we hear from Amnesty International about a report it released today which says the Syrian government are continuing to use starvation of civilians as a method of warfare. They are calling on the UN Security Council to enforce punitive measures against the Syrian government. And finally, we have the news that Labour's frontrunner to be the next London Mayor, Tessa Jowell would ban sexist advertising from public transport in the capital. The plans would mean Transport for London would be told to change their advertising guidelines to "ensure that London's public transport network does not contribute to the portrayal of an unrealistic body image." | |
