The first round of voting in the Conservative leadership contest starts today and while Theresa May remains the favourite to replace David Cameron, her rival candidate Andrea Leadsom will be hoping that the backing of Boris Johnson will boost her chances in the race.

At the launch of Leadsom's campaign yesterday, she insisted that workers' rights would be "protected and enhanced" under her premiership but we report today that back in 2012 she suggested that people working for small businesses should be stripped of rights such as maternity pay and the minimum wage.

And, in the second part of our series on the impact of Brexit we hear from the organisation Freedom from Torture about the risk of the refugee crisis being forgotten while politicians deal with the fallout of us leaving the EU.
