Patriotic games If Owen Smith has any hope of becoming the next leader of the Labour party, he needs to start winning over a significant portion of Jeremy Corbyn's current supporters. There's so far been little sign of him managing that. His comments on Newsnight last night, in which he struck a defiantly harder line on immigration will have done little to win over the many metropolitan left-leaning activists which now make up the bulk of Labour's membership. As Theresa May enters Downing Street we take a look at one legacy of her tenure as Home Secretary - which is the mess that is the enforcement of the UK's current drugs legislation. Our second piece today examines the status of cannabidiol (CBD) products in the UK. Although widely viewed as legal, this piece questions whether the UK's conflicting and vague drugs legislation could actually mean sellers of this product are committing an illegal act. |
