Landmark study sidesteps Home Office drugs censorship

"I believe that with the advent of acid, we discovered a new way to think, and it has to do with piecing together new thoughts in your mind. Why is it that people think it's so evil? What is it about it that scares people so deeply?" - Ken Kesey

Ever wondered what really happens to your brain when you take drugs? Well, for the first time, images of brain scans of people on LSD have been taken and the results are fascinating. Our first piece today looks at the landmark new study and suggests that its remarkable findings show the need for further research on the effect of taking LSD.

With the Tories having just had the the worst week they've had in years, all Labour had to do was make the most of it. Instead they managed to take all the poison out of the tax avoidance story and move attention away from David Cameron. Our next piece suggests that John McDonnell's plans for a consultation on whether political journalists should also publish their tax returns could be one of the most inept responses to a political scandal imaginable.

And finally, we report on accusations by Yvette Cooper that Zac Goldsmith is running a 'racist' campaign against Sadiq Khan. Writing in the Times, the Labour MP said Goldsmith's "desperate" campaign to become London mayor was turning from a "subtle dog-whistle" about Khan's Muslim faith, to "a full blown racist scream."
