Today's news that the Corbyn supporting journalist Paul Mason was recorded privately criticising the Labour leader and suggesting there will at some point need to be a transition to somebody like Clive Lewis, is perhaps not as surprising as some might think. Our first piece today argues that despite Corbyn supporters often being portrayed as almost cult like, many of his leading backers are just as aware of his weaknesses as everybody else and recognise that he is a transitional figure towards a different more effective leader. Next up is a piece which looks at Nicola Sturgeon's speech to the SNP conference yesterday. It suggests that in continuing to talk of a second independence referendum she is starting a fight she may struggle to win. And finally, the shadow education secretary Angela Rayner today writes for Politics.co.uk about how cuts to apprenticeships for 16-18-year-olds reveals that snobbery still exists around vocational training. |
