This week the focus has been on child refugees arriving in the UK from Calais. But not so long ago David Cameron promised to take in 20,000 Syrians, and it seems as if that plan has now hit a stumbling block. Our first piece today highlights how problems with funding has led to local authorities refusing to take refugees in.

And, we have a piece which asks if Theresa May's vision for the Conservative party is anything more than just rhetoric. It warns that her new "Milibandism" will only amount to empty words unless she fleshes out a new political economy that abandons the principles of the old one.
