Police with riot shields, bulldozers, flames, and people's possessions strewn in the mud. This is not a description of a war zone but of the scenes which greeted Caroline Lucas on a recent visit to the Calais Jungle. She calls for the government to show compassion and to provide a legal route for refugees hoping to join family members in the UK.
