Does London deserve better than Goldsmith and Khan?

Whatever you think about Boris Johnson and Ken Livingstone, few could argue that the current and former mayor of London are political heavyweights. But could the same be said about their possible successors? Our first piece today suggests not. A report from the first hustings of the mayoral election finds that Sadiq Khan and Zac Goldsmith were less than impressive, with neither candidate providing a clear image of what London would look like with them in charge.

Elsewhere, we have a piece which highlights the findings of a new report into Joint Enterprise. It suggests that the law, which allows more than one person to be prosecuted for the same offence even if they weren't all in the proximity, is criminalising young black men.
