The bitter row within the Labour party looks unlikely to either come to a head or fade away anytime soon, so what's next for the party? Our first piece today reports from last night's parliamentary meeting where Jeremy Corbyn didn't even bother to turn up. It suggests that Labour remains hopelessly divided and despite it's leader seeming so unpopular he looks almost impossible to get rid of. Elsewhere, we hear from Amnesty UK on the small but significant political tremors set off by the release of Shaker Aamer from Guantanamo Bay. This piece looks at the powers of the Intelligence and Select committee to investigate claims that Britain was complicit with torture and calls for an independent judge-led inquiry instead. |
