As the arguments for and against intervention in Syria rumble on, our first piece today suggests there is no morally correct solution. Civilians are already dying and will continue to do so whether or not the UK steps in. Perhaps the one thing we can be sure of is that neither side can claim the moral high ground.

Our next piece is by the associate Europe director of Human Rights Watch. Based on her experience of working with rescue boats in the Med, she provides a clear plan for what the EU should be doing to prevent more deaths of refugees. She says we must not become inured to the news of children dying in our seas.
