Tory civil war The first shots have been fired in the Tory battle over the forthcoming EU referendum. Cameron's 'back me, or I'll sack you' comments today come as his party gears up for a huge internal row. The prime minister hopes he can keep even the most ardently Eurosceptic members of the Cabinet in line. Time will tell how successful he will be in that aim. However, it's the growing numbers of his backbenchers already lining up to oppose his strategy in Europe that should worry him more.
