An end to Corbyn's new politics?

"Every great political campaign rewrites the rules; devising a new way to win is what gives campaigns a comparative advantage against their foes." - John Podhoretz

Back in September, Jeremy Corbyn seemed confident that a Labour party representing a range of differing opinions was all part of the so-called 'new politics'. A few months, and hundreds of disastrous headlines later and it's rather a different story. Are free thinking and individuality ever really allowed to flourish in Westminster? Our first piece today suggests not and says that Corbyn's reshuffle marks an almost inevitable end to his plan for a different way of doing things

With news breaking of two resignations from Labour's front bench, just as today's PMQs was about to start, this week's head to head between Cameron and Corbyn was set to be tough going for the Labour leader. Yet our review suggests he managed to pull out his best performance yet. Will it get noticed amidst the drama of today's events?

Elsewhere, we have a piece by the former health minster Norman Lamb, on the government's handling of the junior doctors fiasco. He slams the Jeremy Hunt for failing to engage in genuine dialogue with the BMA and says the saga has put patients as risk.

Boris's broken promises

"It is easy to make promises. It is hard work to keep them." - Boris Johnson
View this email in your browser

With almost all of Boris Johnson's manifesto commitments wiped from the web, it's quite difficult to find out if he has lived up to his promises during his eight years as London mayor. But fear not, we've managed to dig out some of what is still available so that we can do just that. Our first piece today, compares the words of the charismatic Tory with the reality of his time at City Hall.

Elsewhere, we look at a new report on the Syrian refugee crisis. It was the story that captured the headlines throughout the summer and under pressure to take action, the prime minister came up with a policy that on the face of it was actually quite persuasive. But this piece suggests today's international development select committee report proves that Cameron's 'head and heart' plan has failed on it's own terms.

Corbyn's record on Saudi Arabia puts Cameron to shame

"Morality has nothing in common with politics." - Bob Dylan

The butchering of 47 people is the kind of sick act we have come to expect from Isis, an act which had it been carried out by the terror group, the government would surely have condemned in the strongest terms. But when it happens at the hands of an ally to the UK, the response is quite different.

Today we have a piece which compares the reactions from the government to the recent Saudi executions, with the reaction from Jeremy Corbyn. It suggests that on this issue Cameron's response is not only morally wrong but also strategically dangerous.
