| In previous years, the race for London mayor has been dominated by big personalities like Boris Johnson and Ken Livingstone. This time around most people thought that policy would be the decider in the battle between the Labour and Conservative candidates. Instead we've seen what many have described as one of the dirtiest campaigns in memory, and one which has centred on race. Today, on the eve of the election, we speak to Sadiq Khan about Islamophobia and what he really thinks about Zac Goldsmith.
The opinion polls all put Khan way ahead of Goldsmith but we report that with experts warning of a potentially record low turnout, the result could be a lot closer than many are predicting. If correct, this could prove to be more damaging for Labour as Tory voters are more likely to vote.
Elsewhere, we have a piece which suggests the authoritarian wing of the Labour party is cracking down on sex workers. When Jeremy Corbyn signalled his support for decriminalisation, there was hope among some people that it would bring change but this article points towards the reaction of some of his MPs and the model being proposed by Scottish Labour as evidence that this now looks unlikely.
